My name is Selina. I love discovering an item I will treasure for years. I love receiving packages and them being better than expected, hair bows, white tights, lots of mascara, flower doodles, olives, pain au chocolat, cake, no meat is sweet, pink ribbons, pretty notebooks and felt pens, sweet perfume, mini dresses, florals, bright red, pink blusher, pink nail polish, Elle UK, platform mary janes, bright bags, Blythe, antm, fashion blogs, '50s & '60s, princess coats and sweetheart necklines.
I don't like flying, junk email, whispers, fire alarms and lab reports.
I study Management and Marketing of Textiles at the University of Manchester but originally I'm from Birmingham. I am currently studying abroad for a year at the University of Borås in Sweden (August 2009- June 2010).
Flying Saucer was born from a little LiveJournal on the back of an eBay vintage store after discovering fashion blogs in Teen Vogue. I moved house to TypePad and continued to share thoughts on fashion and style until I was nominated for a Metro and Ask.com Best British Blog 2007 in the Youth category and won! After a super embarrassing moment of fame, I continued to develop the galaxy.
Since then I've had a post featured in a Harper Collins text book, spent a weekend in Luxembourg, spoke on Radio One and visited my student radio station Fuse.fm, appeared on BBC West Midlands News and WM Radio and featured in the Sutton Coldfield Observer, Sutton Coldfield News and the Birmingham Mail. I interviewed Gok Wan in 2008 when attending the Specsavers SWOTY Awards at the Hilton. I fashion blog for the Birmingham Post, I am the British ambassador for social networking site Modepass and I now blog for Catwalk Queen, part of Shiny Media. I was recently featured in Bliss magazine in 2009 as a teen trendsetter.
