tights parade
I think I've developed rehab-worthy addictions to runway images and tights. It's not painful but it is very emotional and time consuming. I should really be revising for a maths exam tomorrow. At least we do a bit as a module, although I already learnt all of it in a-level and further maths last year but am aiming for a really high mark to make up for any low marks I get in sciency type subjects which is totally inevitable! Although, today's exam questions were repeated from years before so it was good I looked at them last night!

Anyway, tights, we like them alot. Probably because they are cheap. It's also my aim to know what I want to wear in Autumn before magazines try to tell me when it's nearly over. Do you sometimes feel you tackle a season just as it's ending? To be economical, I know I will buy lots of tights this year and these are only a tiny selection I hope to acquire...

I do have white tights but they get smudged with puddles too often so I stock up. I love the Karen Walker way of pairing a white dress with them or Zac Posen with a tuxedo, although I always feel a bit like a waiter in a white shirt with black. I love the makeup though.

These two are a little sexier. When was the last time you wore fishnets? I seem to recall some kind of St. Trinians night from 2003 but since then fishnets haven't been around. A girl in college used to wear skin coloured fishnets which were quite cool. But red pumps and fishnets and a pencil skirt for an average lecture? May take a little thought... At YSL I spotted these vertical striped tights too which you've heard too much about on this blog for a lifetime!

A basic solution to update any dress is to add grey tights, coloured booties and a hair ribbon, which is fully what I intend to do! I'm still perfecting the cascading ribbons though and find some coming from a clip looks best, I'll show you soon.

I've always been wary of brightly coloured tights because almost all bright colours clash with my hair. I am swaying though and it's totally been too long to have not tried some red tights. I love the Sonia Rykiel purple though and totally hope to get a coat in the colour.

And in no way are our faithful stockings gone. I wouldn't have thought to team them with a high waisted, slim line skirt like at Marni but I really like the little bit of leg showing; just enough for Winter. I intend to borrow the Betsey Johnson look for right now and I don't think I'll be wearing pink and white stockings in Autumn, but over black tights it could be a possibility.
Images from style.com and elleuk.com, can you spot the difference?

Great post! I've been stocking up on tights too, as they are much cheaper now :-) In the fall it's always shorts and bathing suits! :-)

I used to wear nude fishnets to work with my serious suits.

I know exactly what you mean when you want to catch the season as its coming and not when it's almost over. I should be looking to autumn/winter but then again, being always sunny it is quite pointless!
The Fashion Spot is always a good place to read up on suggestions for key fall or spring items way before the magazines pick up on it, I always look there first.

tights tights tights, never can one have enough of these. I know what you mean about the seasons as well, when they show A/W in February it seems old by the time that the actual season arrives, I'll work it out eventually!

I adore the Sonia Rykiel look! Over the knee socks always seem to fall down, but layering them over opaques probably solves that problem... I like the idea of the nude fishnets too.
Can't wait to see your hair ribbons!

Love tights and can't get enough of them. I need a green pair and have been wanting a pair of wine-red tights too!
Oh, and it really is great when the exam questions are what you've revised from! Fingers crossed my last exams will follow that pattern! Good luck with the exams :)

OH you and your tights!
I have developed a "It is spring? oh really? well screw it I am wearing tights anyway" attitude. I tried to go a few times with out tights.....and even though I love just throwing on one garmet and maybe a cardigan. Tights are more fun. So screw bare legs. i am going back to tights!!

i love tights so much. it was odd a week or so ago when it was too hot to wear tights! i didn't quite know what to do with myself! i haven't worn fishnets in forever though, they kind of remind me too much of my slightly skater/gothish look i had when i was 15! maybe i'll have to get some new ones and change that.

I really like wearing tights, but I've been mostly doing opaque black ones. I want some greys, some bright ones, and if I could have any on the runway, the ones from Rodarte:)
