I made two steps up in the blogging world today. The first was going to a meet up for Birmingham Bloggers which was a little scary but when I got there I met some looovely people! I hope some fashion bloggers will come next time (I'm looking at you Winnie and Leah!). Secondly, I bought a tripod! The white tiled bathroom from uni may be iconic but unless I'm about to break into Tree Court every time I want to take a photo, it isn't possible *sniffle*. At home I only have one of those thin, wavy Ikea mirrors which just isn't great so I happened to pass one of those pawn shop places for gadgets and spotted the tripod of perfection in the window! This means I get to play dress up with the tutu skirt that has been all over the blogsphere, namely on Strawberry Kitten, Lisa Place and Emma Nygren to name a small handful of owners. It might be popular because it's cheap but I like it because it's not too poofy like some Topshop are offering and a bit longer as well. I got a 152 and I'm about an 8-10 so I reckon they go up to at least a size 12 for adults. Most have paired it with AA dresses in that very simplistic Swedish way but it has way more possibilities than that!

H&M red strapless dress, red tutu from dressing up costume, vintage turquoise belt, Topshop socks, Primark customised stud shoes (although not shopping from there after that Panorama!)

H&M corset, Topshop knee high socks, vintage suede pumps, Junk Shop hair bow (not really seen)

Vintage glasses, H&M cropped tee, Mango lamé matt leggings, Office platform zip boots

American Apparel purple U-neck dress, Oasis stripe tights, vintage Bally heels

Vintage lace top, Accessorize hair bow, Sock Dreams thigh highs, Topshop mary janes.

You look like you escaped from a music box ;-)
I don't blame you. It must be claustrophobic in there.
The last outfit is very sex-ay.

Wow! I love the way you're rockin' that skirt, especially with the cropped tee--which I really ironic because normally I never fall for that look. But you make it look so great. And yay for a tripod, they are seriously invaluable.
I don't know of any blog meet ups in my area but even if I did I would be too frightened to go. You rock!

Ohh I love the skirt with the knee socks! And did you get this at H&M? In the kids section? We only have one H&M around here with a kids section... maybe I should check it out.

Oh yes, and tripods are AMAZING. Plus it keeps my poor camera from falling over and breaking itself so much.

I love that tutu!
I think I need a tripod too!

You mixed it extremely well - I especially like the first outfit, if I had bought it, I think especially for layering purposes, since it is so poofy.

my favorite look is that with the white socks and white shoes...it's so unexpected, and somehow, despite the same coloring, makes the shoes pop that much more!

Wow I though I was the only one who had a thing for cropeed tees. I love that skirt, I want a proper tutu so badly!!

That last outfit of yours looks so Rococo Lolita! And I agree with Wendy- you look like a real live doll :)
Cuteness all around...

Man, I definitely should have bought a smaller size! I bought a 170, but it is too long and it keeps sliding down when I walk, yours looks way better!

Love the outfits....!
Posted by: susie_bubble | June 24, 2008 at 12:15 PM
cool how you mix the skirt with a cutoff tshirt. i really like it. and the shoes (studded?) you have to the red dress, they look to die for!

I love the red dress with the tutu underneath - gorgeous!

great combinations! i have that skirt, too and might steal some of your ideas :) and congrats on the tripod, i desperately need one, too.

loovely, as always! when are you coming to sweden to party? :D love/Hanna

the first outfit is gorgeous, with all those layers of ruffles, and i lvoe how you've made it more edgy and 90s grungey with the cropped tshirt.

DAMN York's H&M being the smallest and most useless shop in the entire world. I'm liking the 3rd look but I cannay pinpoint why...
Huzzah for tripods... I need one aussi... there was a feature on the gadget show (yes, okay, I'm a geek) last night about the best 5 and there's some reet fun ones out there... like ones that stick to anything. Wow
Talking of tv (I NEED A LIFE SERIOUSLY) yes that Panorama was shocking... makes me proud I own no Primark. Though I guess they are claiming to be resolving things?
I crave your Oasis tights everytime I see them love...

ooh yea i forgot to tell you! if you remember that red skirt you made ages ago, ever since i saw it i was really inspired to try and make my own, and camille's tutorial looked fairly easy. so i bought my material + elastic and made one! it came out sooo good and i love it! i just wanna say thank you, because if it wasn't for you i probably wouldn't have made it! there's a post about it on my blog and i linked to you as i got the idea from you lol :]

Love the outfits! Tripods and self-timers are an unbeatable combination!
Dang nabbit, maybe I ought to join facebook to find out about these meet-up type things. It may have been interesting! Next time definitely.

I love that skirt, it looks so different in each picture.

it's like someone opened a secret door into alice in wonderland. you're adorable!

I love it with the red dress. That's such a cute skirt!
Posted by: Amelia | June 24, 2008 at 07:24 PM
My favourite is the third outfit, with the cropped tee. It looks really cool, kinda like something you would see on face hunter!
xx

i love the first two outfits. u remind me of Ariel of the little mermaid so much!!!!!!!
Posted by: cordelia | June 24, 2008 at 11:31 PM
I'd love a tripod, they're probably expensive though =/
My favourites are the first and fourth outfits. Very few people can pull off a cropped tee! You're the exception.

Awesomeness! I have a collection of crinolins (8 or so!) I kept them in storage thou as my apt is too small. you make me want to fly right back to calgary and get them. I am also happy for your tripod purchase, such a useful blogging tool. :-)
Posted by: Hailey | June 25, 2008 at 06:14 AM
Love the skirt! And the tripod seems to be the latest must have aroud the blogosphere (I still need one...!)
Posted by: alicepleasance | June 25, 2008 at 07:58 PM
absolutely in love with the third. i've been contemplating a white tutu too actually. i think it must have been after seeing SJP in SATC catwalking to Aerosmith that made me realise they aren't just for fairies and children!
Posted by: Skyla | June 25, 2008 at 10:43 PM
totally adorable skirt! lovely.
Posted by: Shirin | June 26, 2008 at 01:18 PM
I love this tutu! I actually wok in H&M and I've been eyeing it up for a hot minute now. I decided not to buy even though because even though I'm short I have a lot going on in the thigh and bum area :|
Posted by: Ella | June 27, 2008 at 11:10 AM
Love it with the red dress, and over the now infamous UU dress it makes your figure look amazing!
Posted by: Caroline | June 27, 2008 at 01:53 PM
I love the cropped top and skirt combo...I've always dismissed the AA version (the cropped t) but I'm inspired to try it out with a high-waisted skirt now.
Posted by: Natalie | June 27, 2008 at 08:48 PM
when i first saw cropped tees on american apparel i thought there was no way they could look good but i really like how you paired it with the skirt
Posted by: emma | June 29, 2008 at 12:43 AM
Hmmm...maybe I should join that group! Going to a meet up when you don't know anyone is quite daunting so it's great you ended up going. I am loving the tutu, they look amazing with those striped oasis tights!

I love the first look. That red strapless dress is gorgeous, and adding layers makes it look more sophisticated!
