slow cook
If it's the battle of the trend reviews, Elle UK definitely wins over Vogue. I preferred the big essay sum up though in Elle main magazine rather than splitting it up into sections like they've done this season. They're all cut up now anyway! I've made a little mood board but here are the few trends that can be dipped into straight away, especially due to all this stupid rain!
1. Plaid
I'm stalking the Toppers website for the green shirt. Before it was a bit of an Olsen-fangirl thing to wear an over sized lumberjack shirt but now with a Carrie-esque studded belt and hooopefully some lace up boots it will be more fashionable than wannabe. I'm liking the folky/witchy Luella way or the sexy librarian DSquared way too.

2. Capes, coats & purple
I'm looking at my perfect Zara coat and though it has seen me fit for two winters, maybe it's time for a new coat! But although I like the purple H&M one, if you get a high street coat and wear it every day, the chances of seeing someone in the same is very high. I'd love a cape and will look for vintage ones, I've got over the princess coat love and want something huge and billowy and bright.

3. Bangles and cuffs
The first sight of a bangle that I like, I'm buying five! I love how H&M have put loads on and am definitely wearing double corsages.

4. Folk
Winter hippy? I love this DKNY dress and especially the ad campaign with Vlada, so it won't be too hard to put those summer smock dresses from last year with ribbed tights.

5. Cocoon trousers
I have some slacks but they're not tapered at the ankle. There seem to be loads like this in the Topshop sale though so I'll pop in store next time I'm in town and hopefully there will be a rack that people daren't touch!

6. Colour clash
I'm on a black & white ban again! This has lead me to buy a lot of spring pastels but Marni shows how great they look with grey knee highs. I looove the Proenza Schouler palette and need some jewel tones with purple and navy tights.

7. Get shirty
I'm fed up of flouncy shirts and want structure in my life!

Have you seen the new lace up boots Topshop has? I can't make up my mind whether or not I like them! It's the heel I'm not sure about.. I want something a bit more, well.. 'fierce'! I've been checking out those cropped trousers online too but I'm reluctant to buy them online without being able to try them on and I haven't got time to go to Topshop at the moment.
Bring on A/W! It's not like we've had a summer anyway!

I need to start thinking at my Fall/Winter wishlist. For now, I know I strongly need a coat, a warm jacket and I want to play with color blocks :-)

Ooooh la la, nice summed up post of upcoming trends. I love the fact that the lumberjack shirt is on a short rebound. Remember the time when everyone was crazy about them, then it turned to checks with stiffer material and now it's back to the lumberjack?
Maybe the designers are creating with students' budgets in mind...

I love the shirts and plaid. Definately trends i'll be following. I quite like the whole folk look, but i'm still thinking about how i'd do it. Any ideas?

Ooh, great ideas! It's so hard to think about winter in the summer but I can't wait to go back-to-school shopping now..

I lost a cape dress on Ebay and have been searching for one ever since.
I just did a post about white shirts. ASOS has a great structured one.
Going through the D&G show again got me in a plaid mood. It's raining and nasty today, so I might play in my closet.
