mini me

On Friday in my lunch break I walked down a packed Market Street and suddenly stopped dead in my tracks, causing everyone behind to fall over me. They've opened American Apparel!!!!! Most of you, especially Americans, will think so? but I can count the times I've been into an actual AA store (twice) so it is very fab! They've rounded up the Manchester hipsters and it looks like the basic store- leggings galore. Just a question, seems as there's only about two sizes in each item/colour out on the racks, are you meant to ask for your size and an SA go and get you one, or is all the stock out?
It all ended in disaster though as I had my sights set on the Tri-Blend Scrimmage shirt and picked one up fine, paid for it fine, got home and tonight took it to show an outfit on here and realised it istotally is not the scrimmage shirt- it's a TODDLER'S shirt!Wtf?!
I thought it was cheap (forAmerian Apparel) at £8 and no wonder. I wasn't looking for a cropped tee that was tight so it's going to have to go back. Hopefully the opening won't mean it will become club-wear central, as clubbing in a city with 100,000 students means here is a LOT of highstreet. I don't want to see ten girls in a u-neck dress too! Despite major sale shoppers, the store was pretty empty though. I just ordered the real shirt I wanted and a new long sleeved u-neck dress online, I followed the advice Wendy of Hand It Over always says and found a discount code before I ordered too, thanks for the tip Wendy! I was thinking about the dressall day despite telling myself I already have a practically identical one, but thought what the hey, it will be great for parties. By the way if you're wondering where I'm standing, I'm home until exams and uni starts back so I'm now in a spare room with strange wallpaper. The kitchen is finally finished, if you remember these photos from the summer when it was just a building site, and there is something REALLY cool in there I will have to show you soon!

I like AA but why 12$ = 12€...I so hate these things...

Toddler?? Glad you managed to locate the actual tee in the end.
I heard about that opening! I hope they open one in Brum soon but I do pop into the ones in London/Liverpool when visiting friends.

I bet it feels good to be able to pull off toddler clothing though?!
I go to the one in Liverpool quite a bit and the sales assistants scare me with their full on AA outfits lol. Excited to see the Manchester one when I go back to uni though!

god i'd be happy if i could squeeze into a toddler size! can't believe i was in manchester about a week ago and didn't notice a soon-to-be-AA shop on market street. it must've sprung up very quickly.
as for the sizes, you should find a sales assistant and ask. they always have loads more in the back.

Hm, I think the toddler shirt still looks pretty good! Kinda 90's with the baby cropped tees.. only this time it really IS a baby tee, haha.
Your hair is GORGEOUS, love!

Haha, YES! I saw it just before Christmas all boarded up, it's next to Urban Outfitters.
I'm realllyyyyy excited to visit it next time I'm in Manchester though, I've never actually been to one of their stores!

I heard about this a few weeks back when I saw a poster for it in Manchester, I was SO excited! I have yet to visit it, though, as manchester is like 2 hours from me, but its ABOUT TIME there was an AA store up north!

Love the U-Neck long sleeved dress, I bought a short sleeved one a few weeks ago and I love it, so will have to invest in a long sleever! I live in Glasgow where the AA store has been open for quite a while, and there's not too many girls in the dress that I've noticed so hopefully you'll be okay and won't see too many copies!

I wish they could open a store in my hometown... but that's never going to happen.. a great reason to move!
love your blog:)

Haaha they must've thought you were a teen mum or something :) I don't think that many people will venture in there, if you don't already know about it you're unlikely to go (I think...)

That sucks! I'm sorry to tell you that AA don't do refunds though! They might do store credit... I'm sure they must

hah i'm having trouble scoring the scrimmage shirt too! there's always an extra large hanging in the corner, and they never seem to get any new shipments.. fingers crossed for both of us!

Even though the T is for toddlers it still looks pretty cute on you! And let me know how you got on with the long sleeve U neck dress, I'm kinda tempted to get that too..
